Honey bees are so much more than a honey producer
Honey Bee Trail sprung into spring! How it all began.
I was introduced to beekeeping as a teen. My father was a backyard enthusiast or at least in the beginning. Early on he studied and realized the many health benefits honey bees provide such as helping him with his arthritis, reducing allergies, benefits from pollen, and so much more that is being researched today. After three decades of pursuing his passion with beekeeping, he passed in April 2022. Both of my brothers looked at me and said; “you're it!”. I recalled decades earlier how I would help him in the bee yard as he would hand me the smoker while working the hives inspecting the queen and honey bee workers. I was only dressed in a tee-shirt and shorts and I didn't fear being near bees, I was eagerly fascinated with those little insects.
There’s something about the ability to work with honey bees and transform the honey, wax, and pollen into something tangible, meaningful and most importantly, beneficial. I discovered endless possibilities emerge when creativity meets the bee yard and the first time you open the lid off of your hive. I immediately exhale, relaxing my body and I can be in the moment focusing only on what’s in front of me.
Now, I want to share this experience with others. It is more than a business; it's a community where people can disconnect from the daily grind, connect with their nature, and enjoy the benefits of raw small-batch honey, pollen, skin products, and many other bee derived products.
